Hello, hello.  Happy Valentines Day everybody (oh it's Saturday already, fuck).  Hope everyone had a nice time today, but enough of this pagan goy holiday bullshit, let's move on.  I made an invention and it goes something like this.  (I'm not sure, maybe they already have this... in which case this is pointless).  We used to ride bikes with pedal brakes, when u stepped back.  Then we got gear bikes as we grew older, which just make a hissing noise when u pedal backwards.  Well, I think they should make a  bike that when u pedal backwards, u go backwards.  It's a cool little thing, u know.  I don't exactly know any handy purposes for this back-pedaling, but i do know it would be fun, and it would probably add an entirely new dimension in BMX trick competitions and shit.  Ok, that's all.

Devil's are ripping anyone and everyone a new asshole, because they are just that good.  The have lost twice in the past 18 games... and Brodeur is breaking record after record.  God bless this magnificent hockey team. Ok, now that's definitely all.  Enjoy the long President's Day weekend... get drunk and high.

Ok, I haven't written in a while, and I'm really not in the mood for stories so let's bullshit about sports.  Devils are undefeated in 8 games and are on a 6 game win streak.  I went to the RAngers game today however, and they lost 4-1 to the fuckin' Thrashers.  Let me tell you, if you want to pick a team that will win the cup in the near future, start watching the Thrashers play.  They have Ilya Kovalchuk who has 27 goals and 43 points already this season, and Dan Heatley who is an unbelieveable young talent.  Both of these guys are current and future allstars, and they aren't even in their twenties (well Heatley is 20).

Ok, moving on to football.  Who is going to cheer for the Bucaneers with me?  Frank, you said TB would lose because Oakland is too old to give up.  Well take a look at the Bucaneers... in case you haven't noticed, they are just as old.  My final prediction will have to be... Bucaneers 24 - Oakland 13.  But I suppose we shall see what happens tomorrow.

Let's move on to a topic I missed last time... DUKE!  What the fuck happened in the past two weeks.  Duke, who is undefeated and seemingly untouchable goes and loses two games in a row.  This worries me because now every team will go in to play Duke saying "We can beat these guys".  It's time for Duke to step it up because if they don't win the rest of their games... I can guarantee that the championship will NOT belong to them.

Oh and before I go... did you see Andy Roddick play with that dude from Morroco.  The 5th set was the longest in history... they play more than 30 games that one set.  The entire match was spectacular... long... but definitely a joy to watch.  And then Roddick got destroyed by the crazy German... which is unbelievable.  How do you play so hard to lose so quick?  But here it is... the big news of the day.  In comes my favorite Andre Agassi... and beats the German in an hour and 16 minutes for another Australian Open, and an 8th Grand Slam.  Agassi is the best, at 32 years young he is playing the best tennis of his life.  Ok I'm tired so good night... I'll leave comments for everybody who wrote over these past few days.

I cannot sleep.  I cannot sleep.  I cannot sleep.  I'm tired and sleepy... I cannot sleep.  I was doing work at my dads auto-repair garage on Monday, and I pulled my back... again.  The same fuckin' place every time.  So instead of getting a heating pad... since I really don't believe in medical treatment too much... I decided to go bowling with Elliot yesterday, and oh boy did my back hurt.  Elliot had a busted finger and foot so he wasn't doing much better.  But let me tell you something... when you are in so much pain that you cannot stand straight or lift a 14lb bowling ball, you tend to forget about the bowling and concentrate on the pain.  Anyway... I ended up bowling some of the best scores in my life yesterday.  I took my time and rolled the ball as slow as it could go... but the strikes were raining from heaven.  My highest game ever was a 191, and yesterday I shot a 185.  Not bad for a cripple!

Anyway, that was a little off topic, but it all comes back to the fact that I cannot sleep.  Not because I'm not tired, but because I honestly cannot lay my body down... it's too damn painful.  So instead of sleeping, I am writing stories and reading other peoples xanga pages.  I think everyone sort of forgot about this shit, and now in our bored college hazes we all seemed to recall how interesting it was to read and write these things.  I ended up reading everyone's xanga site that I knew.  I had a good laugh at a certain someone's recent (2 months ago) entry.  Some people just cannot move on with life... but hey that's ok.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

How come it takes people so long to realize that I pick the winning teams.  For instance, in 1992 I became a huge hockey fan... and although I just moved from Brooklyn, I chose the New Jersey Devils, not the New York Rangers (let's not even mention the Isles) as my team.  Three years later, they were the Stanley Cup champions.  Five years after that, they were the champions again.  Not only that, but I have never been to a Devils game where they lost... and I have been to at least 20-25 games in my life (what can I say... I'm not a rich man).  This season, the Devils were supposed to be rebuilding.  "Lou Lamerello (Devils GM) is getting old and is losing his edge... we gave away Sykora, Arnott and Holik... and our defense is getting old and tired." said everyone including some of the biggest hockey magazines.  To make matters worse, the Rangers picked up Holik, to add to their already all-star team.  How can you go wrong with Bure, Messier, Leech, Holik, Lindros, Nedved (although Rangers fans hate him), Poti, Samuelson, and of course Richter.  Not to mention they have the 18 year old Blackburn who's making a breakthrough of sorts.  Well, Holik just scored his 5th goal.  Lindros sucks.  Messier is old.  Leech hasn't play many games.  Bure just underwent surgery.  And Richter... oh God... let's not go there.  Let's also not forget their retarded head-coach Brian Treacherous... who enjoys pulling the goalie with 10 minutes left in the game (fuckin' dumbass) What now Rangers?

I noticed that in the beginning of this season, many Devils fans and many undecideds flocked to NY.  Well fuck you.  Cause here is what I saw in the Devils.  Lou is still as smart and ruthless as ever.  He is looking towards the future without sacrificing the present.  We have young guys (Gomez, Gionta, Bicek, Rafalski, etc.) who are exceptionally fast skaters.  They don't have superstar egos, like the entire Rangers squad, and they listen to their all-star coach Pat Burns.  They work hard everyday, because unlike Lindros and Bure, Gionta and Bicek know that their spots on the ice are not solidified.  The defense has older and more experienced players like Stevens and Mr. Toothless, while still containing young fresh legs like Brian Rafalski.  We still have good fowards like Elias (a premier winger) and Madden.  Finally, we have a sound budget... because our salary cap is a hundred times lower than that of the Rangers.  Thus, we have a sensational record, and the Rangers cannot for their lives pull close to the .500 mark.  The only thing that pisses me off is RANGERS HAVE ALOT OF LOYAL FANS, AND DEVILS FANS SUCK.  I hate seeing the Rangers sell out the Garden and lose, while the Devils can't fill Continental Airlines Arenas, but win almost every night.  DEVILS FANS... I ASK YOU TO STEP IT UP!  The worst thing that could happen is what's going on with Buffalo and Ottawa right now.  Ottawa is the premier team in the East at the moment, and it filed for bankruptcy because they couldn't fuckin write paychecks for their players.  It would be a damn shame if the same happened to the Devils, because the arena wasn't bringing in enough money.

You thought I forgot... didn't you.  No, no... I will never forget about this man (if you can even call him that).  MARTY BRODEUR is a machine, and he cannot be compared with anyone in the league.  I am pissed tha Khabibulin took the Eastern All-stars starting spot... because he certainly doesn't deserve it (although he is also a great goaltender).  Stats show that if Brodeur continues playing at his current pace, and continues putting up the numbers he is right now... then when he is as old as Patrick Roy (36-37), Brodeur will have broken EVERY major goaltending record that stands today.  This includes: games played, games won, # of shutouts, # of minutes, etc.  Most people say, "That's only because he plays 70 games each season."  Ok, fine... I'll admit that Brodeur has more opportunities than any goaltender to win, but let's look at this from my viewpoint.  Have you ever seen a bigger work-horse than him?  The reason why Roy doesn't play 70 games a year is because he gets tired, like every other goaltender, and he doesn't want to get injured needlessly.  Well Brodeur has never been seriously injured yet (spit twice, salt over shoulder, knock on a fuckin' tree), and he continues to play hard every night.  This is not a man, ladies and gentlemen... this is a machine... a NEW JERSEY DEVILS MACHINE.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, moving swiftly along to football.  The entire football scene is a bit weird in New York and New Jersey.  You have two teams, who both barely manage to make the playoffs every year, but do anyway by pure luck.  They both have NY in front of their names, and yet play in NJ.  Fans of the Giants will cheer for the Jets once the Giants loses in the playoffs, and visa versa.  I never knew who to like, because unlike hockey and soccer, I started liking football only a short 7 years ago or so.  In ninth grade, I started looking elsewhere for a team to cheer for, and my eyes caught this wonderful Tampa Bay Bucaneers organization.  Everything about them seemed cool, from their uniform colors and logo to their amazing stadium (with cannons, pirate ships and skulls).  I especially liked what I saw in a few of their players.  Their running back, Warrick Dunn, appealed to me tremendously because like me, he is 5'8'', and he is the ultimate proof that you don't need to be huge to play football.  Along side him was full back Mike Alstott, who can only be described as a beast.  You think it's hard to stop Jerome Bettis... then take his build and put a pair of agile legs on it.  Then you had the big emotional man on defense in Warren Sapp.  How can you go wrong with this big cute tedy bear.  I also took a strong liking towards John Lynch, who is one of the hardest hitting little guys I know in the back field.  Of course Trent Dilfer wasn't my favorite quarterback, but hey... you can't have everything.  Well, once again I was right, in that not only did the Bucs improve greatly over the past four years, but now they have the number one defense, which is comparable to that of the 1985 Chicago Bears.  They are going to be very difficult to stop in the 2003 playoffs, as they already proved by dismantling the 49ers.  So let's see what happens next week against the Bucs worst nightmare... the fuckin' Eagles.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basketball is a different story.  I was never really into the over-commercialized NBA.  It has become more of a hip-hop and clothing industry... Jordan, Iverson, Shaq, T-Mac, etc... then a sports league.  Ballers want to be rappers, rappers want to be ballers... that old game.  But ever since Garnett entered the league... I have been confident with my favorite team the Minnesota Timberwolves.  Going from a "Golden State and Cleveland-like shit team" to a play-off contender, Minnesota has a promising future.  This is of course if they can keep Wally and Kevin, and perhaps luck out on a draft pick or two.  However, I cannot promise to stay with the T'Wolves if Garnett leaves... but if he doesn't... expect a championship within 4-5 years.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok now I'm really tired, and after sitting on this chair for 4 hours and typing... I realize my back has gotten 10 times worse... God help me get up. OHHHHHH SHIT! Wow... I feel like I'm 80 years old.  Anyway... when it comes to picking sports teams... trust me.  (I didn't bother with soccer because if I get into the Italian national team, and Manchester United... forget it, you will never see the end of this already too long page.  So I bid all you sports fans good night.  Please leave me a line, and tell me whether I fucked up any sportsmans name or team info (hopefully everything is spelled correctly).

The following story is not to be taken lightly. It is based on true events... events that took place in a small village many moons ago. I also warn that this story is not for children, or those with heart conditions. Such a tale of excitement can only be found here. You are in the Twilight Zone... or my xanga site (but Twilight Zone sounds cooler).

Installment 1
---------------------------------------------------------------
It was moons ago (as mentioned above) when a few young gentlemen found themselves lying down in a dark Jewish basement, staring into dark Jewish space. What to do on this lonely evening... another night at the local cinema... a bite in a local diner... perchance a fair game game of bowling. Yes, they did all that... but they were still quite bored. Upon returning to the Jewish basement, they began pondering again... vat to do, vat to do. They couldn't agree on the next plan of action, however they all knew that sitting in a dark Jewish basement would not solve any problems. And so... they piled up into an old vehicle and began driving. Where were they going?... What would they find?... Who would they run over?... Who knows? Certainly not me. Anyway... they were driving down the usual local streets when suddenly they entered... the Twilight Zone (actually a neighboring village but Twilight Zone sounds cooler).

Something, however, seemed very different about this village... something odd. In fear they turned the vehicle around, but to their surprise there was nothing behind them... almost a sort of... emptiness. They kept driving through this dark neighborhood, listening to their favorite spanish radio station... and looking... looking for something... anything. And then, there it was... right in front of their eyes... a light coming from a small local grocery store. They were all very hungry, and so they decided to stop by and see what was being offered in this small convenience shoppe (cause shoppe is cooler than shop). What they found... was the beginning of something special.

The gentlemen walked around, looking for food and drink... but non could be found. "What kind of a fuckin' convenience store is this?", exclaimed one of the boys. They came to the final isle of the store, and what did they find at the end of this isle? Grenades! Millions of grenades, each with a perfect elastic wrapping around it. "What kind of a fuckin' convenience store was this?" In disappointment, the gentlemen turned around and headed for the exit. Suddenly, a dirty, drunken young man stepped in front of the door. It was Otto, the bus driver from the Simpsons (whose real name is actually spelled backwards from his stage name, ottO)... apparently this was his night job. After introducing himself, he and the young gentlemen began conversing about this mysterious village. Apparently, ottO was on his way home after filming a Simpsons episode, when he took a wrong turn and ended up in... the Twilight Zone (actually this village, but... well you know). He explained to the young men that he had been in the convenience store for months, hiding from the hideous creatures that lurked in the streets of this mysterious village. He alone was afraid to face them... but he had worked all these months, converting the small convenience store into a "home-made grenade" arsenal. And now, with the help of the young men who crossed the boundaries of his small store, he was ready to fight back. He gave the grenades to the young gentlemen, and sent them on their way.

What will these young warriors encounter along their journey... what surprises await in the dark steets of... the Twilight Zone (cause it sounds cool). Find out in the next installment of... THE ADVENTURES OF LEB!

You probably forgot that I existed. Recently my friend Nick began writing some weird shit in his Xanga blobs. And then I remembered, I too have a Xanga site. So I wiped the dust off my keyboard, and here I am. It's been four months, and my Xanga site is hungry for words. Thus, I feed it.

I noticed that my first semester of college did not go as planned. I intended to get in shape and get good grades. I was hoping to go to clubs and bars, meet new people, etc. Instead... I became a fat excuse for a person... and now comes semester #2. This may sound very depressing, however I write this not to complain, boast, or entertain (although it is quite entertaining), rather I am writing this to inspire. I have noticed that everyone who I met in NYU has ended up like me, fatter, sadder, and in a confusing type of haze. Only few have managed to remain what they were... and I don't believe anyone became more than what they wanted to become. Aside from meeting new people, and making new friends... it's been a challenge. Thus, I write this, in hopes that some of you will follow me to a new beginning...

1. Instead of eating Burger King twice(2) a day, how about something healthy for breakfast and lunch. Oh but that's right, the only thing I like that's not greasy is the sushi. Why? Because the downstairs cafeteria sucks, and upstairs they cannot properly wrap a fuckin' wrap. Honestly, why call it a wrap if they don't know how to wrap it. The reason why it's called a wrap is because the primary goal of the wrapper, is to make a sandwich that's nicely wrapped. If the wrapper cannot wrap a wrap, than don't wrap it, and instead call it a.... hmmm... how about SANDWICH!

2. I need more sleep... honestly... much more sleep. I went to bed at two in the morning way too many times, and often went (or didn't) to class asleep. It's important to get your sleep. Oh, but wait. That's right, I had 8:00AM classes every fuckin' day... including Saturday. That's right, I would wake up while everyone was sleeping in their little uncomfortable fuckin' beds, and haul my ass to class (ha... that rhymes). Not to mention that I was doing homework until the early hours of the morning, while some people still to this day cannot spell h-o-m-e-w-o-r-k. (Fuckin' chemistry). But really, all joking aside... I should get more sleep (bullshit).

3. My grades must be much better this semester, because I am not used to doing poorly in school. Ohhhhh that's right, (at this point I could start giving reasons why NYU fucked me over, but if you simply look up at #2, the explanation applies). However, there is some hope for me. It seems that I will have no Saturday classes (4 hour labs) this semester, and more 9:30AM classes.

4. Exercise. Ok... I have no excuse here, because along with every other person I know... I have become the most inactive piece of shit on the side of the road. This semester... I should have more time... and thus I should excersice more.

I did leave out CERTAIN OTHER activities that, let's just say... fueled me during the first semester... but these shall most definitely remain unnamed (is unnamed with 2 n's?). So now you see how... well, simply put... it's NOT MY FAULT! Look what this gosh darn college has done to my Newtonian brain and Olympian body. And yet...

NYU IS THE BEST FUCKIN SCHOOL IN THE WORLD!
-----------------------------------------------------------
1. The people are nice.
2. The rooms are spacious.
3. The drinks are often cheap ( however the cigarettes aren't).
4. The city is the place to be.
5. The people are nice.

I thank you for reading, and until next time... shalom.
Please, if you choose... leave a nice comment for me to marvel at.
